Story Telling: The LivingStone Transformation

The LivingStone Transformation is like the parable of the Patient Farmer'.

This Parable is a Parable that bible scholars and preachers base on to reveal how much we need to practice patience in all we do. Taking a reading from the scripture below, we dive into where the dream of this incredible idea started from.

Matthew 13:25-30: New International Version (NIV)

25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.
26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

The belief that when we transform an individual, we change a family, when we change families, we transform a household, and when we transform households, we change a clan; when the clans are changed, a tribe gets transformed and when we transform tribes, we change a region and when we change regions, we build a nation and when we build nations, the continent is transformed and when we transform continents, we change the whole world, and when the globe is transformed, we change the lives of individuals, is what leads to personal, singular transformation. This transformation was found while studying at LivingStone International University (LIU).

When I first joined LIU, I was scared of the future. A University that was offering a degree of Business Administration for four year in Uganda. All other Universities were offering the same qualifications for three years in the country. However, what was pressumed to be a waste of time and resources ended up becoming the greatest tranformation in life.

Up-to-date, even after changing the course to three years due to pressure from authorities and other stakeholders, LivingStone is exactly in this pathway; transforming individuals, who are expected to cause a global Christly revolution and thus, lead to easy servicing of personal needs through personalized, humble service to communities. At the top is Jesus Christ who is the finisher and polisher of whatever we strive to achieve.

Let's submit that transformation does not come from a bizarre land, flowing with milk and honey. Unfortunately, that's what most folks expect or look forward to. Rather, transformation comes from within. It doesn't matter how much force one is subjected to. What matters is self-drive, which LIU has keenly identified as a key factor and is now enabling those who attend LIU to utilize theirs to the fullest potential.

What more can one say, all Africa needs is a “get-up-and-go attitude”. Without surprise, however, most African peoples are still not up to doing their best whether at work, school, or in business. All that African folks desire is to have life; they can still hold breath and sleep.

The few self-driven ones are using it in the wrong way. They, for instance, use it for extortion and abuse of their potential. All in all, LIU comes with a motive that surpasses self-drive because it centers on Christ in all her transformation efforts. “Get-up-and-come” to this journey and personalize it, not leaving it for ‘some’ alone!
